Douglas L. Hebert, Jr.

Douglas L. Hebert, Jr. is the senior member of Hebert, Holmes and Bertrand and serves of counsel. Mr. Hebert is a 1969 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University. While in law school Mr. Hebert was the winner of the prestigious Tullis Moot Court competition. Mr. Hebert holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from LSU.

Mr. Hebert is admitted to practice in Louisiana, all United States District Courts in Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and the Coushatta Tribal Court. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Coushatta Tribal Bar Association. He recently retired as the District Attorney for the 33rd Judicial District after serving in that position for 18 years. He served for many years on the Board of Directors and is a Past President of the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association. The state commissions he has served on include the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement, the Louisiana Integrated Criminal Justice Commission, and the Louisiana Brand Commission. He has served as president of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce along with several local and regional boards and commissions. Mr. Hebert is currently the chairman of the Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority, serves as a director of the Southwest Louisiana Health Care Reform Corporation, and founded the Allen Parish Outreach addictive disorders clinic. He has been a lecturer at seminars on “Courtroom and Office Technology.

Mr. Hebert has over 40 years experience handling complex litigation in the areas of criminal law, negligence, insurance, construction law, contracts, governmental and administrative law.
